Meet Our Broker

Teak Bancroft
I can still remember the first time I got my first boat. It was a 15 foot runabout with a little 9.9 on the back. I thought I was the coolest kid around in that thing. Club racing became the norm on Monday evenings in Knockabouts and Flying Juniors. Ever since then, I have been hooked on boats - boats of all types and sizes. Twenty years later, I still own my first real boat, a 13ft. Boston Whaler and various other's. Professionally, I started in the marine industry working for my father's diving business installing and inspecting moorings and helping deliver boats. After I graduated, I worked at a major ski resort as a lift supervisor in the winter and local restaurant in the summer were I developed a reputation as a chef. When my daughter, Adrianna, was born I wanted to spend more time with her, so I returned to marine industry being employed in the service department of a local yacht sales company. Through both formal and on-the-job training, I developed a keen sense of system design and application. In 2006, after four years of service and part-time brokering, I became a full time yacht broker. Having one of the most recognized and respected yacht brokers in the industry as my mentor, I developed my sales technique and became the top salesman at the dealership. I have completed manufactures certifications and attended many educational seminars offered in the industry. I will complete my certification as a Certified Professional Yacht Broker, the highest designation given to a broker, in spring of 2009. I enjoy meeting new, like minded people with dreams and desires of a perfect boat. I still maintain contact with all my former customers from over the years to see how they are doing. I see it as a sign of friendship when they call me to get my opinion on why their engine won't start - even if all I have to say is “do you have the kill switch push down?” .
